Now That's What I Call A Good, Clean Hit
Credit to college lacrosse for keeping wildly vicious headshots in sports. I'm pretty sure they'd give your program the death sentence if any kid on a college football team even thought about hitting someone this hard helmet-to-helmet. Your ass would get tossed out of the game faster than you can say "Joe Pa knew". Yes, that's a Penn State joke in the year 2025. It's a Friday. Give me a break.
But here we have a Big East tournament semifinal matchup between Providence and Villanova. Clearly #34 on Providence was just trying to test out the durability on those new yellow helmets the Friars got this year. Providence is a gritty program, and he just wanted to put a couple scratches on the new lid. Unfortunately for #4 on Villanova, he ran directly onto the tracks without even seeing the train gates coming down.
To be truthfully honest, this just isn't a position you want to find yourself in. You'd like to avoid being in this spot at all cost. With that being said…#4 on Nova took one for the team here and Villanova ended up scoring on the following 2-minute man-up. 4 goals on the day for Villanova's man-up unit, and they ended up winning the game by 2. So I guess sometimes getting your head popped square off your shoulders is worth it. One more win and they have a berth into the NCAA Tournament. Concussions heal (for the most part), NCAA Tournament appearances are forever.
