Aaron Glenn Does Not Give A Single Shit About What Aaron Rodgers Says, Won't Get Baited Into Having To Talk About Him
You may have remembered what Aaron Rodgers said last week. If somehow you don't, here's a reminder:
[Source] - Rodgers, commenting for the first time on his release from the Jets, took shots at the organization -- new coach Aaron Glenn, in particular. Rodgers said he felt disrespected in what he described as a brief, contentious meeting on Feb. 6, when he flew via private jet from California to New Jersey to meet with Glenn and new general manager Darren Mougey to discuss his future.
"I felt like there wasn't an ample amount of respect in that meeting, but I guess I shouldn't have been surprised based on some of the things I saw over the two years," Rodgers said.
Rodgers said he was fired less than one minute into the meeting, adding that Glenn went "a little rogue" and expressed concern that his authority would be undermined by Rodgers.
Yeah, so we got ourselves a gutter war. I think it's a hilarious move by the Jets to bring out Aaron Rodgers and apparently make him leave after 20 seconds. Even funnier to make him pay for his own travel, even if it's next to nothing for someone like Rodgers. But, having him fly out to sit down and think he's planning the next year, meet the new guy and all that. Nope. Just fire him and tell him yeah we don't want you around at all.
Obviously, we have to the Jets response to it, right? That's how it goes. So someone asked Aaron Glenn about it last night and we got right to the point:
Love it. Nothing like a first year head coach and a former quarterback who played roughly 14 quarters for the team fighting with each other. It's what I want from the Jets. It's what I want from really any team who stinks. At least be entertaining and Aaron Glenn will do that. I do think it's dumb to bring up Aaron Rodgers on Draft night. I mean that has nothing to do with what the Jets did last night. We don't need constant Aaron Rodgers questions.
But I do appreciate the response from Aaron Glenn. Yeah, he has a response to it all. He LOVES the dude they drafted. Simple, to the point and move on.
